We know the Republic of Azerbaijan as a country rich in oil and blessed with a mild subtropical climate. However, extreme global climate change and unsustainable economic activity have caused soil degradation in some mountainous regions and reduced its productivity. The country’s leadership has identified increasing the competitiveness of agriculture, including transforming unproductive soil into fertile land, as one of the key priorities of its economic policy.
At the invitation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the company’s chief analyst, Artūras Steponavičius, from April 7 to 11 presented the agricultural technologies “SaproStraw” and “Scarabaeus”, developed by our company, to Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zaur Əliyev, Firidun Taghiyev, Head of the Division of the Department of Land Use Control, and other ministry representatives. These technologies are designed to modify unproductive soil into fertile land.
The presented technologies sparked genuine interest among agricultural specialists. An agreement has been reached to develop bilateral cooperation in implementing the technologies developed by our company in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Formal procedures and contracts are currently being finalized.
The timing of A. Steponavičius’s business trip coincided with the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, Ms. Inga Ruginienė, to the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the official reception at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania, Prime Minister I. Ruginienė heard information about the business model proposed by our company and expressed her support for Lithuanian technology export businesses seeking and finding a successful path into the Republic of Azerbaijan.
